Wabi Sabi way of happy living

WABI SABI

Japanese way of living life

There’s no direct English translation to the concept of Wabi Sabi, but in essence it means: beauty in simplicity “Wabi” and tranquil aging “Sabi”.

When put together, the concept celebrates the pleasure of finding perfection in imperfection.

Simply, wabi-sabi is everything that modern, media-fuelled culture isn’t.

It means family dinners over fine dining; one meaningful relationship over a dozen acquaintances; a cracked teacup over fine crystal.

To understand the concept of wabi-sabi better, let’s see how it is applied to the different aspects of life. In true wabi-sabi fashion all it takes to get started – is nothing you don’t already have

RELATIONSHIPS

Wabi sabi is the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete, the antithesis of our classical notion of beauty as something perfect, enduring, and monumental."

A wabi sabi relationship is one in which you deliberately accept each other where you are—imperfect, unfinished, and mortal.

"Appreciation for imperfections in others, and even in yourself, is the essential wabi sabi frame of mind," A nice quote I have read 'There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.'"

Accepting someone else's faults, rather than taking them on as a project to be fixed, leaves you the time and emotional energy for enjoying that person.

FOOD

"Wabi sabi principles suggest our food should be natural, simple, and prepared from intuition," Making a meal should be a creative, joyful act, not a test you can fail.

Don't just taste flavors but inhale the richness of smells, hear the sounds your food makes, feel the textures (wet, chewy, crunchy) in your mouth. "Part of the wabi sabi approach is training ourselves to appreciate the simplest things in life and using them to engage our senses," Choose dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils with heft and texture to deepen the sensory experience of eating.

BEAUTY

Yes, the beauty of youth is almost universally revered. But in wabi sabi, as in life itself, change is the only constant, and wabi sabi encourages us to embrace it.

"The starting point of cultivating a wabi sabi beauty is to appreciate the process of aging," he says. "Try not to get caught up in wanting to stagnate in one part of your natural progression through life."

True beauty, in a wabi sabi sense, is about taking care of yourself, not turning your face into a blank canvas. If we stop spending the time to spackle over every freckle or cover up every gray hair, we can be more fully engaged with the world—which gives us real charisma.

WORK

"Align your actions and words to your values, and you'll reflect your best self. Authenticity goes a long way toward eliminating power struggles in the workplace," which is probably the most significant thing most of us could do to simplify our lives at the office."Uncover what's distinctive about you as a person and highlight that,".

Akshyaya Tritiya and Parshuram jayanti

LIGHT OF PROTECTION EXERCISE

Your aura is the energy field that surrounds your body. It acts as a magnetic field of energy that picks up on emotions, health, psychic debris and circumstances around you. Your aura can experience stress as you exchange energies with those around you, which is exactly why you need to clean your auric field from time to time.

The aura is heavily impacted by the situations and people you interact with. Since you are constantly exchanging energies with the people around you, it is common for your auric field to get weak due to cluttered psychic debris or even picking on other people’s negative emotions and energy.

As a result, you may feel stressed, anxious, irritated, lethargic, impatient, and even develop a negative outlook towards the world. Your immune system may also take a beating, making you highly susceptible to falling sick.

Our energetic body, and aura needs cleansing time to time.

I am sharing a simple exercise that will protect you from any unwanted energies.

Vivek

LIGHT OF PROTECTION EXERCISE

1. Get in a comfortable position. You can stand, sit up, or lie down. (It’s recommended trying it all the different ways, so you can use it any where and any time) Your eyes can be open or shut, whatever helps you to visualize it best.

 2. Take a moment to visualize a white golden light shining down from the heavens on to you, much like the sun rays.(See its beauty, feel its warmth, know its loving and protecting.)

 3. Take in a breath of air through your nose and as you do so imagine the light going in and then breathe out through your mouth and as you do so imagine black or gray smoke being blown out of you.

Do this, three times, each time, visualize the light going into deeper into the body with each breath pushing up the dark and forcing it out.

(The light represents all the positive things, good health, healing, relaxation, etc. The smoke represents the negative things, sickness, stress, fears, etc. The idea is that the positive is replacing the negative, good replacing the bad.

4. Now feel the light coming down on your body starting at the top of your head, working slowly down to the bottoms of your feet. Take time to go through all the body parts and feel it, as it covers the front, back and sides. Feel you body relax as the stress leaves each part. (See the light in your mind moving down your body and feel its warmth.)

5. Visualize this light extending about 9 inches outwardly from every point on the surface of your body.

6. Now visualize surrounding the white light around your body with a brilliant bright blue light.

See and feel the bright blue light. Feel your outer auric shell as a hard, sharply defined blue. You are safe and alert.

7. As you close the exercise, let the image fade slowly while knowing that it is not fading from reality. It’s always around you.

(Practice this 2-3 times a day. When laying down getting ready for sleep is a good time and in the morning before leaving the house. Once you get familiar with the steps, you will be able to do it quickly in your mind. You may even develop your own steps that work better for you. The more you practice the better you will get and the stronger your natural protection will be. You will get to a point where you feel it with you all the time and anytime you encounter a threat or emergency you will feel a heightened sense of your protection.)

How to create a balanced life

Do you struggle to create a balanced life? Or maybe you wonder if there’s even such a thing as life balance? In this post, I am sharing a different way of looking at what it really means to live a balanced life.

First when you think about it, everything in life and our world is about balance!

On a really macro level, the very rotation of our planet Earth is based on balance.

Think about the seasons . . . within the cycle of the four seasons, there’s a balance between light and dark, inward and outward energy, stillness and action, growth and decline, birth and death.

Our ecosystems require a beautifully intricate and miraculous balance to survive.

Even our own bodies maintain a marvelous balancing act in order to stay healthy and thrive.

Second, I think we’d all agree that our life can get OUT of balance, and we’ve probably all experienced what that feels like.

The most difficult thing, the almost impossible thing for the mind, is to remain in the middle, to remain balanced. And to move from one thing to its opposite is the easiest. To move from one polarity to another is the nature of the mind.

It is difficult for the mind to come to the right diet, difficult for the mind to stay in the middle. It is just like a clock's pendulum. The pendulum goes to the right, then it moves to the left, then again to the right, and again to the left; the clock's working depends on this movement.

If the pendulum stays in the middle, the clock stops. And when the pendulum moves to the right, you think it is only going to the right, but at the same time it is gathering momentum to go to the left. The more it moves to the right, the more energy it gathers to move to the left, and vice versa.

Thinking means momentum. The mind starts arranging for the opposite. When you love a person you are gathering momentum to hate him. That's why only friends can become enemies. You cannot suddenly become an enemy unless you have first become a friend.

Easy way to create a balance~

THE PATH OF CHOICELESS AWARENESS

Don't avoid extreme and don't choose anyone extreme, remain available to both the polarity that's art, the secret of balancing. The mind is choser, that's why the problem arises. Remain choiceless. Whatever happens, and where your are right or left, in the middle or not in the middle, enjoy the moment in its totality. While happy play music, dance, sing- be happy. When sadness comes- which is bound to come, which is coming, which has to come, which is inevitable, you cannot avoid it, if you try to avoid it, you will have to destroy the very possibility of happiness. The day cannot be without the night, and the summer cannot be without the winter. Life cannot be without death. Let this polarity sink deep in your being.

STEPS TO RELEASE STRESS FROM THE BODY

WHAT IS STRESSING YOU OUT?

WHAT EMOTIONS ARE IN YOUR BODY THAT YOU ARE IGNORING OR DON’T WANT TO FEEL?

HOW CAN YOU CONNECT MORE WITH YOUR BODY?

Do you know Stress can weakens your immunity. Stress is beneficial in the short-term and can be a huge motivational tool. But, when we’re spending the majority of our time feeling stressed. That’s when the damage starts happening. Stress is now a chronic thing. While stress is a normal physical response, chronic stress is damaging to the body in the long run.

Before starting let's understand some science of it. The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), The part of the nervous system that takes care of breathing, digesting, balancing hormones, organ control…etc. Anything that you don’t consciously influence is regulated by the ANS.

The sympathetic nervous system is the part of the ANS that kicks in during times of stress to help your body fight through it.

Imagine being chased by a lion! You need that stress response for your survival. After the event has passed, your body is back to its normal state. However, when stress is chronic, your body doesn’t know the difference between work stress, financial stress, chronic pain stress, family/relative stress, and ‘running away from a lion – stress’. The response is all the same.

One thing to keep in mind is that the other part of the autonomic nervous system that is responsible for regeneration, and recovery (and healing) is called the parasympathetic nervous system, and it’s mostly shut down because we are on a stress dominant mode.

Our body’s ability to heal, recover, and regenerate properly is suppressed during chronic stress.

This is very important to know and be mindful of. It is your duty to make rest a priority especially during times when you know you’re stressed to help balance your nervous system.

Turning on the healing and recovery switch can be easy. It just demands some practice and more self-awareness

STEPS TO RELEASE STRESS FROM THE BODY

This quick technique will not only release stress from the body but will help you tap into the parasympathetic nervous system.

1-Connect With Your Body

Sit comfortably and start by placing your hands on your belly and start taking deep breaths. You connect more with your body through touch.

2-Tune Into Feeling And Sensations

•Start scanning each area of your body starting from your feet.

•Sometimes, just tuning in will make you feel all the feelings you weren’t aware of a minute ago.

•You may notice how you’re holding your breath…how your shoulders are tense…how you’re holding your posture. It’s all good. Just be aware of these things.

•Whenever you feel an area that feels tense… pause and connect with it, this is usually where you are experiencing the stress response.

•Start noticing how those areas feel with the current stress response. You just want to observe here and notice if any emotions come up.

This is your first step to focusing back on the body and giving it your full attention.

3- Be Present

Focus your mind on the present only, forget past and future. Focus on each cells of your body and breathe into it. Just observe and be present with it.

4- Follow the breath

By now you will notice that your body is starting to relax naturally. Your shoulders may drop and relax.

You start feeling a sense of calm and peace. You can place your hands on those areas that felt very tense earlier to tune into them a little more (if you can reach them).

Recognize that this is where the stress response happens in the body. Every time you have a stressful moment, you’ll become more aware of it.

5. Slow down your breath

To reach a deeper state of relaxation slow down the exhales. Count to 6 every time you exhale. It will activate your parasympathetic nervous system, and start healing your body.

Secrets of Prana Energy and how it works

Atma Namaste dear divine souls, Sharing a wonderful article about prana, from the prashnopnisahd, it reveals a great secret about how it works and where it comes from. Here i am mentioning a brief discussion of Prashnopnishad, where student ask his query about pran from the teacher Piplaad.

Vivek

Kausalya, the son of Asvala, asked Pippalada: Sir, from where does this Prana born? How does it come into this body?

Piplaad Rishi-

aatmana eshha praano jaayate | yathaishhaa purushhe chhaayaitasminnetadaatatam manokritenaayaatyasmijnshariire ||3||

This Prana comes from the Self, Atman. Just as a shadow is cast by the body of a person, so this Prana is, inherent in the Self, Atman and it enters the body by the activities of the mind.

When a physical body of a person casts its shadow, the shadow does not exist independent of the body as shadow is inherent in the body. The shadow is projected by the substance, so is the whole universe is a projection of the Self. The shadow has no intrinsic existence; it enjoys only a projected existence. A shadow is elusive for it can never be caught. It escapes the grasp of man for it is intangible indicating that the Self or spirit is present in the universe only in an intangible manner. Intangibility which resides in all the objects is the shadow cast by the Self and like shadow it remains beyond the grasp of man. That is the nature of Prana. Prana is projected from the Self, Atman. Prana is perceived to exist because of Atman which is its substratum. As there can be no shadow without substance so also is Prana and it cannot be independent. Prana is entirely dependent on the Self and in that sense it is unreal. It appears to be real because it rests on the reality, the Self.

How did Prana enter the body?

It enters the body through the activities of the mind; that is to say through action arising from volition, desire etc., which constitutes the mind. The very existence of Prana in the body is dependent upon the movement of the mind. The senses are vitalized by Prana and in turn, Prana is impelled by the activities of the mind. A man’s present life is the result of his thoughts in a previous existence. This body is fashioned by our own mind - by our volition, our desires, our decisions and resolutions during our previous life.

According to the Upanishad the mind creates the body, that is to say that you are the architect of your own future life; as you think so you become. Our desires bring us back to this world again and again. Thus this text makes a reference to the doctrine of rebirth which is a very important concept in Vedanta.

Even under the Yoga system Prana follows Thought according to which the movement of Prana can be controlled by thought. It is possible to focus the attention of Prana on any centre of the body by clearly defined thought process.

You can easily understand that how healing works by just intention of mind.
